XULRunner, etc…

In the past 24 hours, I filed my first XULRunner bug, installed Cygwin with some basic GNU tools (CVS, make, …), upgraded my MinGW installation to something more recent because of an old windres version, downloaded the XULRunner source code using CVS and started building XULRunner.

I stopped the build process after 2 hours though. It was taking too long and it was too much for my little laptop. I’ll be building XULRunner on my desktop when I get back home from my “vacation” in Orlando.

How a group of people have managed to write something as complex and big as the Mozilla browser and have it compile and run on a bunch of different platforms is beyond me. But I look forward to following the XULRunner project and maybe one day I’ll be fixing a bug isn’t of just filing them.
